Dear ASC users,
we are happy to announce the start of regular operations on MUSICA during week
16 of 2026 (13.04 - 17.04).
Access to MUSICA will be based on the same regulations as the other ASC clusters
(https://docs.asc.ac.at/first_steps/getting_access.html) plus additional
agreements made specifically for MUSICA.
If in doubt, please contact your institution. Test projects are possible for
everyone without any costs.
All three sites (Vienna, Linz, Innsbruck) will be available, but are currently
handled as separate clusters – there is no cross-scheduling at the moment.
Automated file transfers between the sites, JupyterHub and NoMachine access will
be available later this year.
If you still have a running test project from the open test phase, this project
will officially end on May the 17th. This means there is one month grace period
where jobs can still be submitted to finish open tasks.
Afterwards, the project is terminated and can not be extended. Data can be
migrated to a new project upon request.
Please consult our MUSICA specific documentation, which can be found at:
https://docs.asc.ac.at/musica/.
We also provide a public Matrix chat room, where users can discuss amongst
themselves or with us: 'MUSICA Users'. You can join the room by searching for
"#asc-musica-users:tuwien.ac.at"
Note: If you do not have a Matrix account via your institution, you can get one
for free at matrix.org; In case you do have a TU Wien Matrix Account you can use
the link https://matrix.tuwien.ac.at/#/room/#asc-musica-users:tuwien.ac.at
Instructions on project and user creation as well as login will be sent out
shortly before the actual start date .
Thanks for your patience!
Best Regards,
ASC Team
