There are a lot of different topics in AI and HPC and some brand-new courses are offered for the very first time. This course provides an overview of Linaro Forge, a cross platform, integrated environment for debugging and optimizing parallel codes at any scale. It will provide hands-on demonstrations and exercises of how Linaro Forge reduces development time, simplifies debugging, and eases application performance enhancement on HPC systems. This course is on intermediate level. Participants should be familiar with submitting jobs, understand MPI applications, and know at least one of the programming languages C, C++, Fortran, or Python. In addition, they should already have a basic grasp on debugging and performance engineering. The focus of this 2-days course is on shared-memory parallelization with OpenMP for multi-core, shared-memory, and ccNUMA platforms. This course teaches OpenMP starting from a beginners level and will cover OpenMP and CPUs only. Hands-on sessions (in C and Fortran) will allow users to immediately test and understand the OpenMP directives, environment variables, and library routines. Race-condition debugging tools are also presented. No prior OpenMP knowledge is required, but you should have basic programming skills in either C/C++ or Fortran and you should be able to work on the Linux command line. No matter if it's large-scale HPC simulations or training large AI models, the backbone that makes this possible is MPI or one of it's derivatives. It lets you run code across many nodes at once unlocking performance gains and making huge problems solvable. On clusters and distributed memory architectures, parallel programming with the Message Passing Interface (MPI) is the dominating programming model. This 4 half-days course teaches parallel programming with MPI starting from a beginners level. Hands-on sessions (in C, Fortran, and Python) allow to immediately test and understand the basic constructs of the Message Passing Interface (MPI). No prior MPI knowledge is required, but you should have basic programming skills in either C/C++ or Fortran or Python. Starting into the new training season - learn about HPC and AI

Dear ASC users and friends, a very warm welcome to the new training season that will allow you do learn more about HPC and AI with a couple of brand-new topics blending in with our traditional training offers. We are currently setting up the ASC training program [1] for this autumn and you can expect more events popping up during the next days and weeks. AI Hackathon and Foundations of LLM Mastery Series - Summer 2025 Edition

Dear ASC users and friends, while we are still enjoying the summer and working on the training program for autumn we would like to share the invitations to a few AI training events with you: The AI Hackathon has a new extended application deadline on 19 August 2025! The AI Hackathon will run 14-23 October 2025, 09:00-17:00 CEST and is for teams of at least 3 team members based in EU and/or EuroCC countries who are looking to take their AI projects to the next level. Teams are expected to bring their own AI project with a permissive-style open source license to the hackathon. In the application form we need to see a good description of the AI project together with the goals the team wants to achieve during the hackathon. Dear ASC users and friends, before we go into the summer break, we would like to invite you to our AI Hackathon in October with an application deadline by 5 August 2025 and update you on a few news concerning ASC/VSC. * AI Hackathon on 14-23 October 2025 (application deadline 5 August 2025) * All training events by ASC * VSC has a new name: ASC - Austrian Scientific Computing * Welcome on board (info about the [ASC Training News] mailing list for our (new) subscribers) AI Hackathon 14-23 October 2025, 09:00-17:00 CEST Together with NVIDIA, OpenACC organization, and other partners from the EuroCC network we are hosting an AI hackathon for teams of at least 3 team members based in EU and/or EuroCC countries who are looking to take their AI projects to the next level. Teams are expected to bring their own AI project with a permissive-style open source license to the hackathon. Open AI Hackathons are multi-day, intensive hands-on events designed to help AI and ML engineers and data scientists accelerate, optimize, and scale their real-world projects leveraging the latest technologies. The event pairs participating teams with dedicated expert mentors to enhance the performance, efficiency, and scalability of their applications using state-of-the-art programming models, libraries, and tools. Whether you're working on deep learning, data analytics, or model optimization, this hackathon provides a unique opportunity to push the boundaries of innovation using an advanced AI and ML infrastructure. In the application form we need to see a good description of the AI project together with the goals the team wants to achieve during the hackathon and a full commitment of the team to not only be present during the entire hackathon but also a strong will and dedication of the team to make progress. Each team will get access to enough GPU resources (A100, H100, GH100, DGX) during the hackathon and will be supported by at least two expert mentors (one from NVIDIA and one from the EuroCC national competence centers). [VSC Training News] Profiling AI Software Bootcamp, 10 July 2025

Dear VSC users and friends, together with NVIDIA and OpenACC organization a group of NCCs (Austria, Czechia, Germany, Montenegro, Poland, Slovenia, and Sweden) is organizing a couple of Bootcamps for the European HPC and AI user community - the applications deadline for the last bootcamp in this season is already 16 June 2025: Profiling AI Software Bootcamp 10 July 2025, 09:00-14:00 CEST, online https://events.vsc.ac.at/e/AIprofiling-2025-07 Learn how to profile AI software on NVIDIA GPUs in multi-GPU and multi-node settings. The Profiling AI Software Bootcamp covers the process and tools needed to profile AI and machine learning applications to fully utilize high-performance systems. Attendees will learn to profile applications using NVIDIA Nsight(tm) Systems, a system-wide performance analysis tool; analyze and identify optimization opportunities; and improve performance of applications to scale efficiently across systems of any quantity or size of CPUs and GPUs. Additionally, this bootcamp will walk through the system topology to learn the dynamics of multi-GPU and multi-node connections and architecture. The lectures will be given by Tosin Adesuyi from NVIDIA and teaching assistants from the organizing NCCs will help you with the hands-on labs done on one of their supercomputers. The bootcamp is open to all coming from institutions in EU and/or EuroHPC JU countries and welcomes participants from academia, industry, and public administration.
